RE: Last Call: draft-ietf-opsec-filter-caps (Filtering and Rate Limiting Capabilities for IP Network Infrastructure) to BCP

Hi,

From a vendor prespective, I think a BCP is more meaningful; it will
carry more weight than just an Informational document, so as a person
who helps develop corporate strategy for what to include in products,
I prefer to see this type of recommendation published as a BCP.

However, I am not an operator, so i cannot tell whether the
recommendations do actually represent "best current practice", and it
is fairly important for my continued credibility as an advisor that
these are actually best current practices, at least for some segments
of the community.

I suggest explicitly asking some people known to be active operators
to review the draft and see if there is consensus that these are
reasonable as recommended "best current practices".
