SUMMARY

  This ID provides a means of discovering Path MTU across an LDP
  tunnel.  This is required for correct operation of RFC 1191 across
  tunnels set up using LDP.


RELATED DOCUMENTS

   The RSVP-TE document has a means of Path MTU discovery for LSPs
   set up using RSVP-TE.


WHERE DOES IT FIT IN THE PICTURE OF THE SUB-IP WORK

  MPLS, as it extends LDP.


WHY IS IT TARGETED AT THIS WG

  This ID extends LDP, owned by MPLS.


JUSTIFICATION

  As stated above, this is needed for the correct operation of RFC
  1191.  For background, this ID was well-received in the MPLS WG,
  and was generally considered useful, filling as it does a hole in
  the LDP protocol.
