I agree with Chris and think that this is largely an implementation concern for vendors who as far as I know have done the 'right' thing in this space for years (barring bugs). However, this is something that may be worth a mention in the filtering capabilities document, if it isn't already........or miscellaneous capabilities.....

Is that a practice or something the devices do bby 'default' ?? In my
experience for large networking devices (generally cpe/customer folks by and large can't figure out QOS anyway) this is 'done by default' and not a
'practice' as such.

Unless I missed the point of 'practice' which could be...
