good point. Noting that not all CLIs are created equal (part of the problem right there),
there are inherent incompatibilities between a CLI intended for humans and a
machine to machine protocol, that XML will not solve whatsoever. There is
an ongoing debate whether the IETF should attempt to standardize a CLI.
This is separate from this debate, which is what should the IETF do about
a machine-oriented API for network configuration.
