SUMMARY 

This document describes an information model representing a network
architecture aimed at operating service provisioning. The network
information model represents both the network topology, its resources
and interconnections, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) on top.  
VPNs are considered the basic tool for providing Network Services, as
well as a network feature to build added-value Application Services.

This document does not directly address a WG work item  

JUSTIFICATION 

This draft proposes an information model suitable for describing network
topology and VPN topology in the management plane. It can be useful for
driving configuration decisions taken by policy-based management
systems. It also propose an innovative viewpoint for PPVPNs, by
interpreting them as a network (customizable) facility on top of which
new added-value services can be built.
