The CDN Peering Architecture Overview ID
<http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-green-cdnp-gen-arch-01.txt> has
been updated to rev 01 and is now available at IETF (HTML is also available
at http://www.content-peering.org/draft-green-cdnp-gen-arch-01.html).
I believe this version incorporates all of the changes and suggestions made
at the 10/3 meeting along with comments received subsequently. At this
point, the consensus of the design team is we are ready to drill down and
begin tackling the tougher machinery issues involved in each of the systems
(DIRECTION, DISTRIBUTION, ACCOUNTING). A lively discussion has begun on
accounting, so we are making progress. Work on a new ID "Known CDN
Redirection Mechanisms" has begun which should help us drive the DIRECTION
system forward as well.
So far, we haven't gotten into DISTRIBUTION much yet. Might I suggest we
begin a thread on this subject, starting with the following disucssion
points.
a) Pull based distribution through SURROGATEs
b) Push based pre-propolutation of individual objects to SURROGATEs
c) Push based complete replication of objects sets to SURROGATEs
As always, more scenarios for the
<http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-day-cdnp-scenarios-01.txt> ID
will help us all in getting the architecture right.
