Invitation to Participate in a MPLS Forum Sponsored GMPLS Demo at NGN

Greetings,

This is to inform everyone that the MPLS Forum is facilitating the world's first public GMPLS interoperability event at NGN 2002, Oct 13-16, in Boston, MA. The MPLS Forum has secured a special booth from the organizers of NGN 2002.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to invite interested companies to participate at this test event, if they have not signed up already.

Planning for this event has been going on for some time and the test plans are finalized.

Participation Criteria:

All participants must have paid the MPLS Forum's membership dues, even if they do not choose to become members.  The membership fee will be prorated for the half year.

Participants must also sign a Non Disclosure Agreement and Demo Contract.  For more information on any of the above, please feel free to contact me at amorris@mplsforum.org or +1.510.608.5914.

Participation Fees:

Prior to the event, there will be a hot staging done in the week of September 30th for 5 working days. The pre-staging test event will be held in the University of New Hampshire's Interoperability Laboratory.

The MPLS Forum has made a deliberate effort to keep the fees at a manageable level.  Companies will pay a total of $5,000 to participate in the demo. $3,000 of this will go directly to the University of New Hampshire to cover costs of the hot staging event; the remaining $2,000 will be paid to the MPLS Forum and will cover other organizational costs involved.

There is very limited space at the NGN 2002 host hotel and hence the number of participating companies will be limited to a maximum of 12 (while the minimum number will be 8). While the spaces have been filling up, companies are encouraged to enquire if they are interested in participating at the event. Please contact Debbie Hetland, Event Coordinator at the MPLS Forum at +1.510.608.5907 for further details. She can also be reached by e-mail at dhetland@mplsforum.org.

Regards,
