Hi Ed,

I can't collect real requirements this time, so please just take this message as a notion of interest:

Talking as a individual, I'm pretty sure my company would be 
interested if implementations were available.

|  2. Currently deploying a version/flavor of multi-area TE.

Please let me know which vendors offer solutions. 

|  3. Waiting on a standard/guidance before planning/deploying

That's what I've did so far.

|  We are specifically trying to target front-line engineering and
|  operational efforts.  We understand that from an architectural
|  perspective, having the path to multi-area and multi-as solutions
|  is desirable.  However, we are uncertain how much of this is pulling
|  up into *real* obstacles at this time.

You forgot to mention heterogeneously equipped networks requiring 
standard solutions to all these issues.
