The existing MPLS Recovery Framework is quite general
and could be extended to cover TDM, optical, etc.
Significant work went into agreeing on common terminology.
The CCAMP recovery work should use this as a starting point rather
than starting over.

MPLS is used to create both connectionless and connection-oriented
networks. These two forms of networking have fundamentally different
behavior and thus require different features from the networking
technology. If the IETF continues with MPLS, both uses of MPLS
must be addressed.
