Subject: A proposal for "RSVP Extensions for QoS Provisioning"
Hi,
Just wondering if RSVP can be extended to support QoS provisioning from
end-users. Based on RFC 2750 "RSVP Extensions for Policy Control", Policy
objects are sent along with RSVP messages but only the signaling scenario is
considered. The Policy framework will be more flexible if we allow end-users
to request for QoS provisioning. The idea is to use a format closer
SLO(Service Level Objectives) and LDAP objects may be more suitable instead
of RSVP extension in my opinion.
It's just a thought but would appreciate any critics to help me understand
the underlying principles of the policy framework.
Thanks,
