The OPSEC WG in the next (last) month
Hello,
Over the last few months, we've been completing our assigned tasks to get
our Working Group finished.
We started out with six documents; one is an RFC, 3 have completed WG LC,
one is in it, one is left.
This last document (infrastructure-security) will happen in a few weeks.
Then we're done. (Hopefully)
If you are an author of a recently-completed document, please update your
document in response to the comments received and submit a new version. As
versions are submitted, I will fill out the paperwork for IESG submission.
One of may tasks includes the running of the id-nit-checker tool
(tools.ietf.org/tools/idnits); my life gets *much* easier if you run it
first and deal with its' complaints. Note that previous WG discussion had
decided that we are trying for BCP status on the capability documents.
One last task has been under discussion amongst George, Ross and I for a
while -- some of you have been involved, too. I am worried that generating
five capability documents will lead to user confusion and have been
advocating that we update the framework document to include some guidance
and example profiles. The framework document was always on the
maybe//maybe-not line to complete. So you may see a newer version of this
document submitted from George. My goal is to use some of the Prague week
and see if the framework can be useful for this user guidance function. It
is not much work as the words exist, it's just a "read everything and see if
it still fits" effort. If you have issues or concerns with my plan, please
advise either in Prague or on the mailist. Better ideas are welcome, too.
So, please read the last two documents as they go through the process. And
if you're an author do the last of the remaining steps to your document.
Pat (and Ross) (and George)
