PPVPN draft-kathirvelu-corevpn-disc-00.txt

	 NAME OF I-D:

http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-kathirvelu-corevpn-disc-00.txt

	 SUMMARY
PPVPN consists of many routers, some physically discrete and
some virtual, housed in a Provider
Edge router. The problem that presents itself is that these
virtual routers need do find each other
over a virtual topology. They need to send broadcast
datagrams as mandated in routing protocols
[such as the neighbor discovery datagram and routing updates
in OSPF, the routing updates in RIPV2
etc] . This document presents an approach for solving these
problems.

WHERE DOES IT FIT IN THE PICTURE OF THE SUB-IP WORK

This work fits in the PPVPN box.

WHY IS IT TARGETED AT THIS WG

It addresses the following work item from the PPVPN WG
charter:

The working group is expected to consider at least three specific
approaches including
          BGP-VPNs (e.g. RFC 2547), virtual routers and port-based VPNs.

as it is related to virtual router approach.

	 JUSTIFICATION

The WG should consider this document as it specifically
addresses one of the
work items called out in the charter.
