Where Does it Fit in the Picture of the Sub-IP Work
CCAMP
WHY IS IT TARGETED AT THIS WG
It defines the neighbor discovery mechanism for SONET/SDH network. This
draft can be viewed as extensions to LMP, which is under CCAMP charter.
JUSTIFICATION
This draft fits in the CCAMP charter. The proposed procedure meets the
ITU definition of J0 bytes. Also a specification for using DCC/J0 for neighbor
discovery are essential to the inter-working of SONET/SDH neighbor discovery,
the fundamental piece of a common measurement protocol. We posted this draft at
IETF 49 and received several emails of comments and support. We'll submit a new
version based on these comments soon. Also there is no other draft that competes
or overlaps with this draft in IETF.
