Where Does it Fit in the Picture of the Sub-IP Work:
        IPORPR Working Group

Why is it targeted at this WG:
        This document provides a framework for IP over Resilient Packet
Rings
        (IPORPR). This framework intends to outline requirements for IEEE's
        802.17 RPR Working Group and to aid in the standardization of
protocols
        and mechanisms in support of IPORPR. The framework is also intended
        as an introduction to related technical issues between network
routing
        and the developing 802.17 MAC.

Justification:
        This framework document represents the combined effort of several
        active participants, within IEEE's 802.17 RPRWG, that want to ensure
        smooth integration of L3 features with the developing 802.17 MAC.

        It will be modified in response to input received from ongoing
efforts
        in both the IETF's IPORPR WG and IEEE's 802.17 RPRWG.
