The problem for me with this term and some of the others is that one isn't 
actually giving the final answer... one is just pointing in a direction that 
will eventually lead to the final answer.  From that standpoint, "steering" is 
actually pretty good, because it suggests a redirection that might be 
temporary (further redirected later) or final.  But it just doesn't sound 
right because it's not intuitive -- people can't read the term and understand 
it.
