There will be a panel and an open discussion ("BoF") about content peering
at the iBand conference in San Jose on November 8th.
The conference schedule is at
http://events.stardust.com/iband/conference.htm
and the relevant session descriptions are at
http://events.stardust.com/iband/details_content.htm#S2
http://events.stardust.com/iband/details_content.htm#f2
Brad Cain is chairing the panel, and I'm one of the panelists along with Avi
Freedman from Akamai and Keith Weng from Inktomi. Should be an interesting
exchange.
Please note that these sessions are *not* activities of the Content Alliance
or the IETF. I and those organizations have no say about who gets in or how
you get in. Although it's listed as a Bof, the discussion session is
emphatically *not* a meeting of the Alliance or the CPWG, should not be
confused with a BOF at the IETF meeting, and there will be no effort made to
reach decisions about the status of documents or similar.
I think a number of people on this list are likely to find the discussion
interesting, and may have valuable perspectives to contribute. But if you
can't be at those sessions, you should feel confident that you will not miss
any group decisions about progress toward standards.
