This is not what you said initially.  You said 'add to 
the network some older equipment.'

IB>> No, that's exactly what I meant. My customer purchased a ring of new devices with new software. The customer also happens to have several rings of older devices running older software. The customer wants to interconnect the new rings with old ones. The customer does not mind to downgrade the software on the new ring so that it will be compatible with other rings.
