New Liaison Statement from ITU-T SG15, "ASON control plane session security"

Hi,

We received a copy of a liaison statement from Study Group 15 of the ITU-T to the Security Area Directors with regard the security aspects of the ASON control plane.

CAMP is not requested to perform any action, although I am sure that the Security ADs would welcome any input that you have on the subject.

You can see the liaison in the IETF repository at https://datatracker.ietf.org/public/liaison_detail.cgi?detail_id=220

All incoming CCAMP liaisons are tracked at http://www.olddog.co.uk/ccamp.htm

Cheers,
Adrian

Purpose: For action
Body:
In the context of the ASON Control Plane work, Q14 is starting work
on the operations and procedures required during Control plane
initialisation, reconfiguration and recovery (G.7716).

These procedures require that authentication and general security
issues are properly addressed, and we therefore ask your advice
with respect to state of the art techniques that are available to
us to progress our work.

The action deadline that we are requesting will make your response
available in time for our next interim meeting in June. If you are
unable to respond in time for that meeting, we still look forward
to a response some time in the future. Our next meeting after June
will start on October 30th, 2006.
