Re: WG Consensus Call: draft-swallow-gmpls-overlay-00.txt
hi at least to settle the two first ones, for the third
please clarify (i give it a try):
- application space: as said, overlaid control planes
where lsr and oxc's topologies inter-connection do
not require a high trust relationship (a typical
case lsr and oxc coming from different vendors
within the same administrative entity)
- associated requirement: from the protocol viewpoint
(i don't think we should enter into another level of
discussion here) minimize the changes wrt to the
existing g/mpls signalling and ease of integration
into existing routers and lsr -
- distinguishing characteristics: would you please
tell us with respect to what in the ietf scope ?
but if i assume you mean here "capabilities" wrt
to the oif solution, then from capability viewpoint
it allows for the use of fast notification, end-
to-end recovery with soft-provisioning (and edge-
to-edge) in addition to route pinning, this for
features i see as the most interesting ones, and
if i assume "protocol differences" i would say
nearly nothing wrt to the current gmpls def's.
thanks,
- dimitri.
