Hi,

Not wanting to fan the flames again, but can someone
respond to Bert's question?  What was the reasoning
behind adding the new section on trace monitoring?

Will the main LMP draft also be updated to include
the trace function (presumably optional)?  For that
matter, is it clear that trace monitoring is a
SONET/SDH-specific function (anything apply to
G.709, for example)?

Instead of having a(nother) flame war over if this is or is
not a WG doc right away, it would be better to ask the editors
as to why they thought they needed to add the new material.

As far as I can tell from a quick browse through the doc, it
seems that the new material is all the text in section 4.

So editors, what piece of comment raised by me or others on the
WG mailing list is being addressed by section 4 of this new document?
