Question the relationship between LMP and IGP

Is there anyone, who can clarify me out of the following questions:
1. Do we still need hello message to maintain neriborhood messages in IGP
(e.g. extension to OSPF), if we employ LMP to discover the neiboring nodes
and maintain TE link status? If we still need, why?
2. How does the LMP cooperate with routing protocols?
