Doubts regarding SONET/SDH label

hai,
    
        Could someone explain me the correlation between the position of a particular signal in SONET/SDH
        multiplexing structure which is indicated by the SUKLM numbering schema (SDH/SONET label) and the     
        timeslot ???
        
        How do a SONET/SDH LSR maintain the label resource ?? Does the SONET/SDH multiplexing structure 
        signifies the label resource with root as the signal level which the LSR switches ??

        Does label set or the suggested label concept in GMPLS holds good for SONET/SDH LSPs also ??
        If yes, can someone frame such a requirement where it is applicable ??

        Please correct me if i am going wrong somewhere ?? Also do suggest some pointers where i can get
        information about controlling and provisioning SONET/SDH LSPs
