RE: Please read and comment on GMPLS P&R DT documents

Hello Ron,

We took the definition of null traffic from g.gps and only adapted it to
"LSP/span recovery". The null traffic is the traffic you have when there is
no normal or extra traffic over the recovery LSP/span. Null traffic is not
selected (chosen) at the egress. We could also say that this is not a user
data traffic.

Extra traffic is typically a low priority user data traffic (that could be
qualified as normal traffic if it was not transported using standby recovery
resources).

The draft just gives definitions, some of them are not used anywhere else in
the same draft, correct. They are just expected to be used in other drafts,
or to help to better understand other definitions.

Kind regards,

Eric

Sudheer,

In Section 4.2.C of the terminology document, could you expand on the
definition of "null traffic"? How is it different from "extra traffic"?

Also, you don't use the term outside of section 4.2.C. Should this be cause
for concern?

                                                Ron
