Unlike the ITU, members of the IETF act as individuals.  It is
inappropriate to generalize the remarks of one person to an entire
company.  Further I believe that Tom was confused between Y.1710 and
Y.1711.

Y.1710 is a reasonable document.  Mostly great stuff that any vendor
wanting to sell to carriers should take very seriously.  As do I.
