RE: Use of extended prefix lengths



Bill,

Interesting.  I noted that prefixes longer than 64 are not prohibited
by the BGP, OSPF or DHCP RFCs, so I got to thinking (I know, very
dangerous).  I am checking with some folks to see if currently
available DHCPv6 server implementation will associate a prefix longer
than 64 bits with a link or link address.  I will keep the list
informed.

 you mean longer than /64? 
 I have built a network out of a /96, using /120's for subnets.
 you have to turn -off- all the autoconfig crap - but it is doable.
 dhcpv6 would have been a real help then.
