the subtlety of saying DNS vs. iDNS is interesting. In fact, I am not
certain which I meant in my own proposed text!
Getting back to basics:
Per Harald I am hoping that the solution is layered onto the existing
DNS. This will minimize changes to the DNS infrastructure, thereby making
iDNS deployable and usable much more quickly,
That means that the work being done does not touch the DNS protocol, per
se. Or, possibly, that changes to the DNS protocol come later.
Trying to state the functional goal for iDNS simplistically: users of iDNS
must have access to all DNS functions. The negative of this is that iDNS
enhancements must not break existing DNS functionality.
