Could we cut this thread short?
Microsoft decided to implement a protocol in IE5 that is not an IETF
standard. In fact, that protocol does not match many of the requirements on
which we have general agreement in this WG. The fact that it "works" isn't
all that interesting, given that it has plenty of things that don't work in it.
